He has born in Diyarbakır. His family has got seven children.
He graduated from Diyarbakır high school because exiled from Gaziantep whit was 24 friends, because of a fight.
He started at Marmara Unıversity public admin in 1979.
He married with Ms. Vildan who he met in Unıversity. He has got a child her name was Gül.
He had to go to Moscow from the Turkish Communist Party.
He started in Social Sciene Academiy in Moscow. He started to write poems.
In 1989 published the book wich name was " Sokağın Julası" with his friend who was Ali Taygun started to work Advertising Agency.
In 1990 he published the magazine wich was about Culture And Art "Yine Hişt"with his friends.
In 1992 he published his first story book "Çıplak Ayaklı Gece". This book had Ferit Oğuz Bayır "Düşün ve Sanat" prize in the this year.
In 1993 he helped to right the scenario of "Çakalların İzinde" sequence.
In 1995 Ahmet Ümit wrote articles for introdbce Franz Kafka, Dostoyevski, Patricio, Highsmith, Edgar Allan Poe who ara write about detective stories.
In 1994 he published the story book" Bir Ses Böler Geceyi" and after in 1995 he published the story book "Masal Masal İçinde". In this book he wrote the stories wich he lernd from his mother and this book was reading in some schools and translated in Korean language.
In 1996 he wrote the detective story "Sis ve Gece". This book was approved in Turkey. And it was the first detective book in Turkey wich was translated in Foreign language.
After "Sis ve Gece" he published "Kar Kokusu"(1998), "Agatha'nın Anahtarı"(1999), "Patosona"(2000). The were published the book "İnsan Ruhunun Haritası".
In 2008 he published Bab-ı Esrar and this book was about the murder of Şems-i Tebrizi.
"İstanbul Hatırası" has got information about with İstanbul, was published in 2010.
His botoks were used for some cinema and sequence.
Also, he was a member of adbisory board in Okan Univercity.
